To start with a flourish, let’s begin with a photo shoot of a real vintage train. I have to say that the idea is remarkable and so original. Imagine the joy within this little boy’s heart when he saw his dream come.

{Equipment needed}

- Paper sheets with different colors and patterns
- A pair of scissors
- A glue ribbon
- A “scoring” board in order to make clean straight folding lines

{How to proceed}

1- Download and print the template file with the two different hot-air balloon sizes.

2- Cut the templates and put them on your colored or patterned paper sheets, trace the outlines of the templates with a pencil and cut the different sizes out with your pair of scissors.

3- With the “scoring” board, fold a clean straight line allowing to fold the hot-air balloon lengthways, then with the glue ribbon, stick one side of a colored hot-air balloon to the back of another colored or patterned one, BUT respect the sizes.

4- Repeat the process until you obtain a complete 3D hot-air balloon, or half of it you’d like to put it on a surface.
